Foto dan Virus

Sesuai dengan judulnya... akhir-akhir ini gue baru keingetan kalo tahun 2015, gue mengalami kejadian yang bikin sakit hati sampai sekarang.

Laptop gue kena virus dan nge-encrypt semua foto dan dokumen. Gue nggak peduli dengan dokumennya, isinya cuma tugas-tugas doang. Yang gue peduliin adalah.... foto. Gila lo, itu folder isinya memori 5 tahun lebih. Dari jaman foto yang masih banyak noisenya. Semua tangkapan layar chat atau SMS gue sama orang. Video gue pas ada acara.

Beneran masih sakit hati sampai sekarang. Nangis kejer. Ya gila looo. Jaman gue masih temanan sama si A, sampe sekarang temenan sama si Z, dan ada yang masih temenan sama si B. Chat sama crush gue. Ah, isinya hal-hal goblok tapi nggak tergantikan.

Seinget gue, dulu virusnya minta pake Bitcoin bayarnya. Sayangnya pada saat itu gue belum ngerti Bitcoin, kalo udah ngerti, gue rela bayar. Beneran. I would pay for those precious photos and videos. Gobloknya lagi, belum lama sebelum itu, gue baru aja ngebuang SD card yang gue temuin di HP. Gue baru aja ngehapus backup foto dan file di hdd external gue. Kurang tolol apa coba gue?

Hahahaha.

I learned my lesson, guys. Backup all the photos and videos on all of your devices to external HDD. It's not as expensive as it was 3 years ago. 2TB HDD is available for Rp1.100.000. I bought that shit 4 years ago for Rp1.700.000, smh. You can never go wrong with more space. Backup everywhere you can. Don't lecture me for privacy on Google and all that shit because I cried so hard when I realized I didn't have any backup, even online. I only have about 50-100 of them WHEN I SHOULD'VE UPLOADED ALL OF THEM (about 1000 or 2000 photos) !!! Hell.

Oh, and also, backup in several places. Example, you have Dropbox installed on your computer. Don't rely only on it. Use mega.nz, Google Drive, whatever you have. I made that newbie mistake. All of my photos on Dropbox and Mega were infected too because I had them installed and synced to my computer. Some of you might have several e-mails, use those too for Google Drive.

I had no idea for y'all iPhone users maybe you're stuck with iCloud lol.

Don't!!! Make!!! The Mistake!!! I Did!!!

tl/dr: backup everything you deemed important to your external hdd and cloud. You'll thank me later.
